Funerals
It’s never easy when a loved one dies. If you or someone you know has recently lost a friend or relative then we want to help you and pray for you. Your Funeral Director will contact the Parish Office to arrange for one of our clergy to take the funeral service at the church and/or crematorium.
That member of the clergy will contact the family to discuss the service and the necessary arrangements for burial or cremation. We can also offer a service of remembrance held at a future date - perhaps on a day that was special to your loved one. The cost of the service will depend on elements included e.g organist, crematorium, church, interment in the Garden of Remembrance.
We will try to ensure that your loved one's funeral service will be as comforting as possible. Whether you want a quiet and peaceful service or one which celebrates the life of the deceased with readings and hymns or songs, we will do our best to ensure the service is how you would wish it to be.
We also have a Pastoral Team: members can visit you, to listen and advise and pray with you.
Once a year we hold a Memorial Service to which we invite anyone who has lost a loved one over the past 12 months.
Interment of Ashes
We have a Garden of Remembrance for cremated remains and in certain circumstances permission can be granted for the ashes to be interred. Normally, this is granted where there has been a strong connection with the church or the deceased has lived in the parish. To enquire about this, please contact the Parish Office.
