Giving to PCC
We are very grateful to everyone who gives so generously to support the work of our church – we could not deliver everything that we do without you. To allow us to continue our work, we would ask you to consider prayerfully how you can help – scroll down to see how you might do this.
So that we can understand in good time where we are with this year’s giving, we would appreciate it if you could complete the Stewardship 2018 Response-form by the end of March. You can save it to your PC, complete it and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. … You can do the same with the Gift Aid form, if you have not completed one before for Knowle PCC. This gives us an additional 25% from the government at no additional expense to you, provide you pay Income Tax.
Why are we here?
Knowle Parish Church is engaged in a variety of activities, across all ages, in both our local area and beyond with the aim of helping people become life-long followers of Jesus Christ.
To support our work, we have a great team of clergy and staff and good facilities, which are used intensively throughout the week. This all costs money; and without people, like you, making generous voluntary contributions, we would be unable to deliver all that we do.
How much does it all cost?
Our projected running costs for 2018 are £615,000, which will need to be funded almost entirely by voluntary giving; we don’t hold big reserves and money coming in is used straight away.
In 2017, thanks to peoples’ generosity and good management we were able to fund all of our activities including repairing the clerestory windows in the church. We also replaced the church sound system, thanks to a generous legacy received in 2016.
Where does my money go?
Over half of our money goes on “home mission” – promoting the gospel here in Knowle. This includes the cost of the clergy and the children’s and youth teams, and of all our activities from Bumps and Babies through to the Friendship Club.
“Wider Mission” includes giving to help other churches in the Birmingham Diocese, and a number of gifts made to charities in the UK and abroad that we have links with. These gifts are very gratefully received and we get lots of positive feedback from the organizations that we give to.
Of course … we need to keep the buildings warm and well maintained, and we couldn’t manage without the invaluable support of the Parish Office!
Our costs in 2018 are higher than in 2017 because we have now have a fully-staffed Youth Department – great news! However, our income now needs to grow to keep up with our outgoings so that we can maintain all of our activities.
How can I help?
Everyone’s circumstances change over time. If you already give regularly, please consider whether you should change the amount you give – even a small percentage increase is very welcome and makes a big difference overall.
If you have not given regularly before, it would be great if you could. If you have been worshiping with us for a while and now consider KPC to be ‘home’, please consider giving in a planned way to support our mission.
One-off gifts also help enormously. Perhaps if you’ve had a “windfall”, or aren’t sure about regular giving, this might be right for you.
Cheques should be payable to Knowle PCC.

For any money given from a bank account we ask for a reference of your house number and postcode. For example 42B930NP. This is to allow us to identify that the gift is from you, which is essential if Gift Aid is being claimed. If you want to use a reference that informs your records, such as “Gift to KPC”, please do both. For example 42B930NP gift to KPC.
