Groups

There are many groups of varying types and sizes which play a vital part in the life of our church week by week and month by month.  They provide opportunities to grow deeper in our faith and to get involved in serving others.

Home Groups
More than 20 small groups which meet every two weeks.

New Horizon
A Bible study group which meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 10.15 am in the Guild House.

Meetings for Prayer
Powerline on the first Wednesday of each month 8.00 pm - 9.15 pm in St John’s Hall.  Short worship, focus on what is happening in the church this month with prayer in informal groups or led prayer in the church.

Prayer for Troops in Afghanistan and elsewhere: every Monday morning 8.30 am - 9.15 am in the Church.

Prayer in the Waiting Room: every Thursday morning 6.45 am - 7.30 am in St John's Hall.  Come to pray for the life of the Church.  Tea, coffee and toast served 7.30am.


Particular interest groups


Mothers' Union
Promotes the well-being of families worldwide.  Meets monthly.

Phoenix Group
Provides support to those caring for people with learning difficulties.  Meets once a month on a Wednesday during term-time.

Special K
Special K is a Christian based group of men and women, who are either single, separated, divorced or widowed, and meet as a group for Sunday lunch once a month and attend a variety of social events throughout the year.

Activity & serving groups


Bell Ringers

The bells are rung to welcome people to Sunday Services and at weddings.  The ringers meet every Monday night.

Flower Guild

The Flower Guild decorate the Church for Sunday Services and also do flower arrangements for weddings and festivals (Harvest, Christmas, Easter) etc.  New members are always welcome.  Full training can be given; all you need is enthusiasm and a love of plants.

Music groups and Choir

The choir leads 11.00am services.  Practices are weekly on Thursday evenings.
The music band leads 9.15 am and 7.30 pm services. 
The music group leads 6.00 pm services.  Practices for both are on Tuesdays.

St Anne's Drama Group

For all ages who are interested in drama and movement.  It presents plays and sketches as part of the worship of the church, particularly at festivals.
